But after taking his first Physics course with Prof. Tom Carroll, Jon was instantly hooked on pure physics. Jon attends his first Physics conference at the Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics in Atlanta, which sparks his pursuit for a PhD. In preparation for grad school and to bolster research experience, Jon was accepted into the competitive Gravitational Wave Physics REU through the University of Florida.
